Beaconsfield Farmer's Market

While at the Fall Fair that took place mid-September, I met the man who runs the Beaconsfield farmer's Market, near where I live. He invited me to come and join them Thursday evenings at the historic train station. I've never done this setting before so for my first appearance I just a few examples and lots of cards, mostly just to test the waters.

Certainly fun trying a different environment... plus standing next to the fresh bread isn't bad as well!

First Fall Fair

Only have I ever done a Christmas Fair, so it was fun to do something different. Same set-up, different colours. Lots of orange, yellow, red, purple and black with a little lime green thrown in for good measure. Instead of reindeer there were turkeys and instead of Santa hats there were candy corns. I also added two new flavours to the gourmet boxes- pumpkin pie spice cake and apple pie cake. It was a busy end to a very, very busy week! But one well worth it.

Proof I was there!!

Sweets for a Sweet 16

I didn't do anything for my sweet 16 as I tend to keep my Birthday celebrations low key. I might think of re-doing it however if I had these cakes... Last week I got a call asking for some cake pops for a sweet 16 dinner, and if they could be pink and white with opposite coloured polka-dots and if every pop could have a black "J" on them. The Birthday girl's Mum provided me with thank-you tags to put on each of the cake pops, which turned out looking really great when tied with the black ribbon. A day or so later I got another request from the birthday girl's Mum asking if I made large cakes as well, and although I do prefer to stay with cake pops, I do make the odd exception now and again. This Mum wanted a simple design for the larger cake, staying with the pink and white theme, so luckily nothing beyond the realms of possibility for me.

Hopefully the young lady enjoyed her special weekend, and hopefully her cake too!

Fancy Another Cuppa?

After I made the teapots for Mum's tea party in June, Mum knew she wanted to take some with her when she flew to England. On Tuesday I took her to the airport and in her carry-on were 6 little tea pots on their way to my God Mother in Middle Aston, Oxfordshire. Never before have my cakes travel so far!! Upon receiving the cakes, I got a lovely note from my God Mother saying how much she liked them and that her husband had been threatened with divorce-type consequences should he eat any! (I don't blame her!)

Still love making these...

Wedding Sweetness

It's fun making these little wedding folk, but even more so when I know the groom for whose wedding they are! In this case, the Groom is part of a family I've known since I can remember, and it was his little sister (my-best-friend) who asked me to make these couples.  I was glad to even have been a teeny tiny part of the day. Happy days ahead!

A couple of sweets for a sweet couple....

Safely packaged up.
